  • 109 bus from station 07.40, 09.55, 12.55, 14.55 17.30 (Sunday 11.55*, 15.25, 173.5 19.25)
  • 108 bus from station Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays Only 09.55*, 12.55, 15.55 18.15
  • * goes on to Kniveton
  • some buses from station to bus station otherwise 10 minute walk to get buses107, 108, 109 to Ashbourne leaving roughly 10 minutes past the hour
  • except Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays 09.55, 11.55, 12.55, 15.55, 17.35, 18.15, 19.25
  • Rail to Chesterfield, bus Weekdays get 17 to Matlock then 411 to Kniveton 10.30, 12.35, 17.10 (earlier on Saturdays 16.20ish)
  • on Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays the 17a goes direct 9.05, 11.05, 14.05, 16.05
  • Rail to Sheffield, get bus 181 to Bakewell then bus411 to Kniveton (sporadic - check first)
  • Stockport, bus to Macclesfield & Leek bus108 to Ashbourne
  • get off by the school, and walk up that road
  • From Ashbourne to Kniveton bus 411 : 07.35, 09.00, 09.30, 11.30, 14.05, 16.05, 17.10 (earlier Saturday) Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays bus 17a or bus109, 10.35, 12.35, 12.50, 13.40, 15.35, 17.45,

    M5-M6 J13 Stratford A449
    @Stratford follow A518 to Utoxeter
    right @ A50
    left on A515 to Ashbourne
    From south , SE, and NE:
    sM1 J25
    take A52 through Derby,
    before Leek,
    Right on A515 to Ashbourne

    From northwest:
    M6 J19 - A537 to Macclesfield
    then A523 through Leek
    turn left A515 Ashbourne












    From Ashbourne:
    Take B5035 from Ashbourne centre towards Kniveton
    - signposted 'Wirksworth'".
    Right at B5035
    turn left before village a quarter mile after the Ketch Pub (where Waste Recycling Plant is) - signposted Knivetonwood, follow lane round in a loop until you come to road bending sharp right with two lanes going left

    There will be a sign saying which lane to use, depends on the weather....

    EITHER Take first lane to newhouse farm, right in third gate

    OR, if its muddy we may have to use the second lane, as we did last year, past the bungalows , but they complained - there will be a sign if this is necessary. Also bigger living vehicles may have to use this route, by arrangement, please phone in advance
